  hello all, it is nice to have a forum for former jw's and see i wasn't the only one out there having serious doubts.

  my parents got into it when i was about 4 years old.

  my family was part of the granville ny congregation.. my dad in time became an elder.

  The assyrian attack may have been a mixture of history and mythology from the Bible that the FDS is trying to use as prophecy that applies to them. They, the WT, may be preparing for the great internet apostate attack and the lawsuits regarding pedophiles in the midst of the WT. Right?

  I hope I don't get corrected by the great scholars at JWN. If I do, I am sure I will learn something.

(2) When “the Assyrian” attacks, the elders must be absolutely convinced that Jehovah will deliver us. (3) At that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from Jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint. All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not. (4) Now is the time for any who may be putting their trust in secular education, material things, or human institutions to adjust their thinking.   hey i'm new here, i've been reading up so much here and on other sites about tatt and it has really settled a nagging feeling of doubt within me.

  truly i have been lied to and have been trapped in this cult.

  i've been suffering with depression, anxiety, attempted suicide, hospitalization, anti depressants, loneliness all this while being in supposedly surrounded by "the happiest people" on earth.

  Go to school and enjoy life.

  One of my best friends happens to be a JW too. He and I go hiking to the highest peaks in California quite often but never mix religion in our conversations. He has two daughters that I have known since they were about 12 and 13. They are about 30 now. The younger one decided one day to go to university, travel the world and marry a well educated non-JW. She is very succesful, fulfilled and happy. Her JW parents actually talk with a great deal of pride about her accomplishments, even though from time to time they show disapproval of her distancing from the ORG. My friend actually refused to attend her daughter's wedding about two years ago. However, about two weeks ago he sounded so proud of her daughter's strong personality and determination to pursue even more education and her will to make a difference teaching in a high school full of dropouts and scary teenagers. Her mom also speaks very proudly of how her daughter has traveled the world and is so smart and succesful. Both parents have little education and are JW's. You have an advantage. Your father supports you and he is not a JW. GO FOR IT!!!

  that seems to be a disturbingly high number for a western / educated / developed nation.. does this have anything at all to do with america slipping behind in the sciences?

  it seems hard to imagine they could not not be linked somehow.. no surprise that the jesus party (republicans) reject evolution the most.

  Pretty amazing! I was disappointed, surprise and puzzled by that fact two years ago. The greeks (presocratics) 2,500 years ago were a lot smarter, knowledgeable and open minded than those superstitious 1/3 of America today. I am glad the other 2/3 of Americans are carrying the load to advance science and human knowledge even for the benefit of those superstitious people

  Who are the real WT puppet masters ?

  a few days ago i posted my estimations about how much the wt actually makes a year.

  you guys were all really helpful and provided a lot of useful info.

  a good estimate would be 2-3 billion dollars a year.

  Where the need is greater: TTATT in Spanish

  it seems most of the us growth is in spanish-speaking territory, and of course, there is growth in the nations where spanish is the predominant language.

  most sites oriented around ttatt, are english-speaking.

  there seems then to be a great need for translators...for instance, imagine if there was a spanish version of www.jwfacts.com.. unfortunately, i dont speak this language.

  Count me in for translating. I have a good command of English and Spanish, the latter being my native language.

  Regarding JWFacts, it is well organized, well documented and easy to use. Show me a similar site in Spanish and I can say there's no need for translating. I doubt anyone can show me something as comprehensive and easy to navigate as JWFacts. You the man Paul!

  Regarding objections (in Spanish above) to translating JWFacts, I suspect that Hildebrando may have a conflict of interest if he (she) is managing an "apostate" site already.
